Short shot challenge

When we were at VC park Saturday, a group of guys was playing full-court basketball. Gavin saw them, and was mesmerized. I had to restrain him from rushing the court. Sunday, at Cove Creek, one half the court there was empty. So Big G did what any young basketball fan would do. He stole some other kid’s ball and rushed the court to take some shots. Over. And over. And over again.

He tried and tried to make a hoop for at least 10 minutes. At one point, he carried the ball to me and said, “Down! Down.” Translation, pick me up. (Yes, it’s verbal Dyslexia.) I held him up and still there was no way he was making a shot. He tried though. Failed. And got mad.

But when I put him down, he ran back to the ball, picked it up, and tried again. And again. And again. Yes, it’s ADHD – Athletically Desiring Hoop Domination.

One day he’s gonna hit that rim. One day.
