Our Fourth in photos

How we spent our holiday afternoon.

Looking pretty by some flowers in downtown Blowing Rock.

Why won't they bite

Unfortunately, the preeteen didn’t catch a thing. And yes, this location is gorgeous. And no, I’m not telling you where it is. Stay away!

Walking small
Gabby didn’t care for fishin’. She wanted to do some explorin’.

yes we're thieves

When you go exploring you find treasure. They were left (I think) by a family who had been fishing beside us.

You're so cute!

As you can see, they fit perfectly!

not very ladylikeNote to self – make sure you cover that baby gut when trying for a cute photo.

then momma trashed me

It was only a threat. That’s all.

That evening we watched the Town of Boone fireworks from a really cool location. Again, it was crowded enough so I ain’t saying where. Some good friends braved the flood of people gathered for Tweetsie’s show. Personally I think that it’s overrated, especially given the size of the crowd through which you must fight. We saw people lining the road at 2:30 p.m. to get good seats for the evening. By nightfall the park was floating in a solid square-mile of car hoods.

One possible Tweetsie highlight(?). Here’s an unconfirmed report (the best kind!) that one of the leaders of a fruity little club was there with his woman and spawn. I’ve heard he has a house in the area, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
